Lets go for a Test Drive

I was expecting something far worse than that. Not a great advert for the Garage and glad it's not my car. but if that was the worst abuse a car of mine ever got from a garage I'd be delighted. Life's to short to waste time worrying. Probably a good thing that people are now able to highlight this sort of thing. It should push up standards and as a result the expectations of people like me, over time

Bad pr for the garage, but I don't think that was maximum rpm' do you ! Saying that I would be pissed off if it was my car.

The comments on the page don't seem to give the owner much sympathy do they ?

It's a Merc never going to get much sympathy from any one who doesn't drive one.

As its a premium brand or pigeon holed by those that feel all drivers of a brand are the same...

Like BMW then? ;)

A bit exagerated I think, I was also expecting worse than that...
What piss me off is the fact that test drives are most of the time included in services that do not specifically require it.
It seems to be as a reward for the technician who changed your oil, and they even charge you for it!

I think the issue for me is the speeding which if he'd been flashed I wouldn't be too pleased receiving the fine and trying to explain it was a mechanic, revving the car isn't a big deal but does appear to drive the car a little gung ho, plainly as its not his car.

Really all it shows that as a supposidly prestige brand/dealer its no different than Halfords.

Tim.

Who knows if it was a clay cold engine - in which case it was something I wouldnt be happy with that treatment on a car of mine!

It's the eating of chocolate that's the big crime here, think of all those calories

I could just about agree.

I think the style of driving left a lot to be desired. Testing the car in a controlled and planned manner I wouldn't have a problem. Trouble is, it didn't seem very well controlled nor planned.

I have done a track day in the Zed, I am pretty sure it could handle what anyone could throw at it. But could they handle the Zed?

Mechanics,on test drive, will test your car. That is the purpose of the test drive.
Did we see the driving aids disabled, followed by wheelspins and lockups? No.
If you don't want anyone to fartstain your seat,Do your own servicing!
