Lesson learnt

Our multi car policy came through today for the ///M and swmbo's little A Class, £890.06 :o

So gave the everso friendly and happy to help Kirk a call and after just over 8 minutes on the phone he quoted me happy with £389.21,

Now swmbo does have our 21yr old daughter onboard for about 6 times a year when she's home from Uni so she's now off the car and can insure for 7 days at a time for £25,

Even with our daughter still on the policy it came down £350 but I thought it about time she stood on her own two feet literally  dads taxi will be in use a little more I suspect :D

Anyway the lesson is don't accept your renewal, always give them a call to see what they can do

A very nice saving
On a similar theme,I gave Bt a call today,I asked what they could do to reduce my monthly bill for the Broadband and TV ,Phone .After a chat were you renew your contract for the same service as I am receiving now,the cost came down by £16 per month. :D

Sky's next on the list!

Thanks Marlon sure was, I'd bought a nice Malbec to enjoy in front of the telly tonight but think I'll go out now with the lads and celebrate  :trampoline: :titshake:

great saving.
always worth comparing before renewing. i've always beaten renewal by moving elsewhere.

I had our multi car policy come through last month and they didn't want to drop from a vastly over priced quote,(never climed in 5 years with them) so now with a new insurer and a massive saving. Admiral where starting to take the Pee

Good result and certainly pays not to accept renewal quotes :)

I'm just curious about multicar policies, is it better to go for one of these rather than having 2 seperate policies? I don't know much about them to be honest and whether they have any advantages.

I'm looking at ordering a Hyundai i10 at the end of the month and was thinking of having my Z3 and the Hyundai on one policy, the i10 will I think have the lowest insurance rating being only a 1 litre 3 Cyl so shouldn't cost too much to insure, just not sure if to have both cars on one policy :?

I compared individual quotes initially and after our 8 minute renewal chat that was cheaper by around £60

Thanks Darren, I'm Adrian Flux on the Z3 so will see what they can do :)

Having 2 young drivers in the household was the reason we went for multi car policies, now they have got some years and NCB behind them, we don't need this type of policy anymore. It did work out much cheaper in the early years though.

Interesting the small print for Admiral's advertising campaign on the TV states that their multicar policy may not be cheaper than two separate policies (or however many cars you want to insure).

Back to not accepting renewal quotes, don't forget to challenge your breakdown cover too. Each year I threaten to leave the AA and get a decent discount.
