Length of Ownership

I've had mine 4.5 years and counting. By the time it's 5 years, I'll have got it just how I want it, so will be keeping until it falls to bits.I've looked at swapping it , but keep coming back to the fact that other cars may press different buttons, you can't beat a Z4 for overall smiles per mile at a very sensible cost.TVR's and 911's empty your pockets quicker than anything,my Z4 has cost very little over and above routine service items in the whole time I've had it,( rear springs, bonnet sensor, DISA valve) a really great car to run.

Bought mine in March this year. Never thought about how long I would keep her etc. So not sure I guess. Although I have seen a lot of nice Porsches around lately that has got me thinking. I think realistically I'll have Zara till next summer at least before I move on.

:D Your cars shares its name with mine. I suppose there arent that many female names that start with Z!!

It's a good name. On a separate note I think you know my best friends' boyfriend? Small forum world.

mines a keeper, 1 day people will be lookin at it and saying look at that old car, i wonder what it is

Bought mine from new in 2004, so that makes it also in its ninth year.

Only mine, nobody else has had their grubby mits on it.

It is part retired now and only sees sunny days as my daily drive is my Cayman S

Just can't part with my beloved 2.2 though :driving:

Bought mine in July and i'll probably keep it until i come to move out as i will need to raise funds for a deposit

I'm only 23 and no plans to move out just yet would rather have the zed and disposible income for another year or 2 yet

I bought my first Z4 back In 2007q and upgraded to the ///M in 2011. I plan to keep it until PVR sells his.

:D

You certainly didn't drive it hard on Sunday being stuck behind Ruby

Oi!! Just seen this! I'm sensible. Besides he was looking after me from getting lost.

I will keep mine until the 981 boxer/cayman drops below £15k. I don't anticipate this anytime soon but that just peachy with me cos i love my z4c

mine was a bit of an impulse buy also. i was looking for a car with a budget of up to 7k and originally wanted a turbo hatchback (mk1 focus rs/leon cupra r 225).

then i started looking at vx220 2.2's and saw a z4 on pistonheads in my budget.

i then noticed quite a few in my budget and couldn't believe it.

bought one a couple weeks later.

i've had the car for 8 months now, and plan to keep it for at least another year.

Only had my Z for 20 months. No plans to sell it for several years, though I am already saving for a replacement. :o It will need to be something very special. (I do like Astons). 8) Only exception, if it becomes unreliable, at some point, it will go. That doesn't seem very likely based on ownership so far.

Bought mine in April this year primarily on it's looks and relative cost (then found out how well it went around corners) - will keep it until something more desirable comes along which may be quite a long time.....heres hoping.

I love this line!

Sorta like: "I was minding my own business, driving in a straight line, and then I turned a corner, and like, wow!!"

:driving:

I bought mine July '11 and plan to keep it. Partly in the futile hope it will become a classic and partly because for the money, there's not much out there that's better and not as common as muck

I got mine Jan 10, originally planned to keep it for 3 years, which means its in for the chop next month :o

Think i'll keep it for a good few years though, after spending money making it look pretty!

Still want to get a Porsche though - probably a boxter/ cayman... just to satisfy that itch.

Bought new in 2004 so another into the 9th year of ownership. Now with a little over 70K on the clock and looking totally different to how I purchased it thanks in no small part to this forum  .
I currently have no plans to change it within the next couple of years but when I do it will be for something special or at least what I consider special, just need to start saving  .

Bought mine in Jan 2011 and have just sold it.

Got fed up with the poor service from Dealers and got fed up with the cars faults.
