Hi,

I’m looking to get E89 35i and was as wondering whether the legroom/general comfort level in the E89 is better than the E86?

General comfort yes, the E89 is a completely different car, bit for me the e85 had slightly better legroom

This. Found there was more room to have a general leg stretch in the E85 when doing a long journey, but the E89 is far comfier all round (I'm 6ft 2)

6 foot 4 here, super comfy, love the driving position and my knees are easily underneath the wheel which has been an issue for me in other cars.

I am a leggy 6ft 4". Plenty of leg room and comfort in the E85, with sports seats, for long legs. :D  No idea about the E89

Being only a wee fella of 5'7" in the old measurements, I find the seats make far more difference in comfort than legroom - just saying - make sure you get m-sport seats or you may regret it....

I'm 6' and its the most comfortable car I've ever had for long journeys. Getting out when parked next to a 6" kerb is challenging but that would apply to any low car. Just completed a 600 mile trip to the smoke & back and averaged 45.2mpg, roads were wet so averaged about 60ish rather than the usual 80ish with dry roads. Very pleased with that as I remember when one was happy to get over 20 with a 3 litre lump under the bonnet!

Owned both e85 an e89. Not much difference in legroom, BMW want you to be in relative comfort in both cars. Though these cars are chalk and cheese the e89 has more elbow room and feels a bit more comfortable overall to drive especially over long distance of more than an hour.
