I just pulled my first: CVM/CTM [CTM_89] | A68B: Microswitch, roof shell 2 closed, left error off of ProTool today.
I had received a "bong" and a roof warning on the dash with the top closed... but only on a left turn. I've not seen any top opening, closing or locking issues, so I guess it's time to figure it out before there is one. Tons of threads on this and I see that Robbi_Z4 is the master. I just wish he was a YouTube video superstar as well. :camera:
Getting into this, from hours of reading threads that @Robbi_Z4 has participated in, I'm likely to need to replace some wires that are injured that are lashed into the robot arms behind the rear shell. Recommendations of specific flexible patch wire quality/links? using a mesh or lap solder splice? I plan to get a good look tomorrow, take a few pictures, but not start tearing apart loom covers until I have the replacement wire needed. I'm sure both sides should be checked, but is A68B on the left as I understand.
I've also read through https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1905886. I'm feeling more dangerous than confident. :-|
My 54377228585, 54377228586 are on order, in following the master's replacement recommendations - not expected to fix this problem. I've replaced the fish relays a bit ago and checked the condition of the hydraulic pump to be good. All of my trunk seals are intact and flexible, and my taillights are original. My point being that I take it all seriously after reading The Book of Robbi_Z4
I hear that this is almost like Covid19, everyone is going to get it sometime, but some ppl get worse symptoms. I didn't get into a high mileage Z4 blind, and I absolutely love driving this car. Warmed it up and took some nice pulls over 110mph on appropriately empty stretches of road. D**n that engine sounds good.
