LeeStateCars?

The tyres will usually be the same size front and rear if the car has 16" or 17" BMW wheels, it was only the 18" options that had wider rear wheels and tyres, like the ones in the second linked advert.

The downside of that car is that it is a facelift 2.5i so is 40 or so bhp down on a 2.5Si so you need to consider whether that will matter to you, although it does have the desirable M-Sport seats that Lee's one doesn't. But neither of them has heated seats which most Roadster owners seem to consider essential to extend the roof-down experience at lower temperatures.

The other possible rust issue is the rear brake pipes, especially at the end of the plastic cover just in front of the rear passenger wheel.

Oil leaks aren't unusual from the cam-cover and oil filter housing gaskets that get brittle over time.

I think you'd only be able to see the CDV from below, and as you say it isn't hard to remove anyway.

With and without CDV photos.

How difficult is fitting heated seats to a facelift model? I saw in one post that the Pre-facelift models are pre-wired for heated seats, so it just plug and play... Sort of.

It's only early pre-facelift cars that were pre-wired. Possibly up to about September 2004 going by this:- https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2096344&hilit=pre+wired#p2096344

I've no idea what wiring would be needed to fit heated seats to a later model, but given how popular heated seats are they won't come cheap, especially heated M-Sport ones.

It's probably cheaper, and a lot les painful, to spend a bit more to get a car that already has them!

I agree with the above. The pain of retrofitting and associated costs is way more than getting a car with the relevant options already ticked.

Prices are dropping a lot.
Saw a decent set go for £600

Yeah I've seen them at prices around there.

Not sure heated seats is a deal breaker for me. Could always get a Snap-on heated jacket... Though that might cost as much as seats

Little update.

So I decided to buy the car from Lee. It might not be top of the line spec, but it's definitely more than enough car for me.

As for buying from LeeStateCars. I have to echo what Stuart said. Both Lee and Sharon were fantastic, no issues with me taking my time, plugging my scanner and then letting me come back for a second viewing with my brother and using his proper scanner. Never pushy and always happy to answer any questions. Definitely recommend.

As the Z4... It should be MOTed and ready by Thursday :driving:

Evening guys!

The Z4 is currently sat on my drive 😁

I was able to get out yesterday with the top down, not so much today unfortunately. Coming from a big old 4x4 this drives like a dream, it's absolutely fantastic for its age.

Yes, pictures will be posted when it's not raining 🤣

I can definitely say I would recommend LeeStateCars. I Never felt like I was being sold a car for them to make money, felt like both Lee and Sharon both just love their BMWs and were more interested in finding the right BMW for me than just making a sale.
