LED Strip Boot Light Kit

I've made two batches of 10 and am taking responses for the next batch; when I get enough I'll order the parts and start making them up. I can't guarantee I will have enough requests though so your patience is appreciated. I will post updates and only ask for payment once kits have been made and tested.
Roadster only at this point until I can see a coupe to decide if it's possible for E86.

Please complete this survey if you would like a kit:

The cost is a little more than doing it yourself (as I first did) - however my cheapo W5W adapter shorted then melted with associated smoke so I decided to make a much better version.

This is literally plug and play using OEM connectors with no soldering required. All will be tested and working before sending.

Kit contains:

1x LED strip to cover the width of the boot, can be trimmed with scissors if needed
1x LED strip connector (will come attached to LED)
1x Extension connector

£10 inc. 2nd class postage - if you're local I'm even happy to install!

Payment will be requested and details provided by PM - please do not pay until then. Paypal has changed how you send payments so there are 3 options:

Send money to friends and family
1. £10.00 for 2nd class
2. £11.10 for 2nd class recorded

Pay for goods or services:
3. £11.70 for 2nd class recorded including paypal fees

5 min installation:
1. Remove boot light and disconnect
2. Pull carpet away
3. Feed connecting lead behind carpet to boot light connector
4. Stick LED strip on and connect to connecting lead
5. Replace carpet and (now inoperable) boot light 'lens', bulb can be left in situ

Kit and result shown with warm white LEDs below.

I've had a couple of questions so thought I'd post answers here in case anyone was thinking the same.

1. Does it go off when you shut the boot?

If your current light goes off when you shut the boot then so will this, it's connected to the same loom. You may have to get inside to check though

2. Does it trigger any dash warning?

Boot light is not monitored so no warning light

General comments:
Connectors included are keyed so you can't get them the wrong way around.
The LED strip is replaceable as the connector for it is a clip type.

Yes, all gone. First on the wishlist? The minimum number I can order is enough for 5 at a time so once there are that many I can order the bits and make some up again.

Sold out and I've not tried this with the coupe, not sure what it would stick to. Happy to have a look if anyone will let me see theirs.

This is awesome! Where are you based mate?

Exeter but up to London once a month or two.

Ah fair enough, il have a look later and see if there's anything that it could stick to, might have to be on either side..
Thanks anyway! Jack

Send me some pics of the boot and I'll see what I can come up with. Would still need one to try out lengths on.
