Folks,

When it talks of resistors, where does this go?!

I suspect they would want you to cut the live wire for the side light and install the resistor there. I would hope they would be provided with terminals to allow easy connection to the cut wire, rather than just a single resistor with a strip of wire on each end. I'd ask them to clarify.

I was just editing that... also I am not sure which bulb you have for the side light in a xenon headlight? To be honest, given the power of the xenons I'd be included to stick with what you have! I think "Sod that" is probably a wise approach.

I can't wire a plug without getting a shock! Bugger all chance i'm going to dick about with the headlights!

If you want to go down that route get some of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/501-W5W-No-Canbus-Error-LED-Sidelight-Interior-Bulbs-/280587962572?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item41545888cc

I had them on my E46, they just plug in where your old ones went, no errors on the dash or resistors needed.

Thanks Oli! Thats just the ticket! Are these the same as the rear numberplate bulbs?

*Edit, i really must learn to read - says they are compatible for Rear plates! All clear!

Sorry I'm confused. You wanted to ruin the front of the car and now your talking about rear plate light bulbs. Yeah ?? So they are a straight swap?

hi i fiited these to my z4 last week these are super white!! and look great with my existing xenons.

great price to

cheers folks

They sound great guys. Do you have any pics of them fitted with just the sidelights and with the xenons on? That would be ideal. I assume (maybe wrongly) but these change the colour of the sidelight halo ring, yeah? As this is the only sidelight our cars have?

So these are also the correct fitment for the rear reg lights too yeah?

Cheers!

Craig

Craig, i'll fire you a pic when i fit them. not sure on numberplate, depends if the bulb fits, physically, not my type!

I put some on my tt as a tester before i did it on the zed..... Im
Glad i did as they melted!!

i have tried various LED sidelight bulbs none of them lit the halo fully and equally as well as the halogen ones.

*this is from the halogen to xenon thread

Eventually got round to replacing the orginal sidelight, 501 bulbs with new LEDS ones - looks much better and matchs up with my xenons

Anyone got pics of them fitted?

I love my halo's but would be great if they were brighter.. & I'm not taking the light apart for the full swap..

Agreed with Andy, love the halos but would like them brighter without chopping up the lights. If a bulb swap offered a good improvement then great!

Thats what i'm trying to achieve!!!!! Is the Halo not a bulb??!

Seems i just wasted £20 on two sets of bulbs!!
