LED sidelight bulb - connector problem.

I've had my LEDs in place for a few months and in the past couple of days I've noticed one of them flickering off/on. If I gave the lens a thump it would come back on again if off, so a connection issue seems to be the problem.

I opened it up and tried to fiddle with the connector plates / bulb, but not only is it no better, it's an even worse connection.

Any advice on what I need to adjust to get the connection working again? The bulb sits very tightly as it is, so it's not as if it flaps around.
 
The LED may be on the way out - have you tried swapping with the other side and see if the issue moves with the bulb?
 
To be fair, no I haven't. I had the impression that LEDs were long life relatively? I ordered some originally that were recommended elsewhere on the forum, but if there are some lower maintenance / longer life ones that require less hassle I'd pay more.

They do have a longer life buddy however one of mine failed after a few days. The seller said it was unheard of and just sent me out a replacement. Its definitely worth trying another bulb.

You're probably correct about getting some more. I won't go for the ones on the LED "How To" thread, so does anyone have some recommendations of their own?

The ones I had were a crisp white (6000K perhaps?) and I've seen some listed here, although not as cheap:

It's also a case of whether they are CANBUS ready.
 
I've tried a number as sidelights, but they all seemed to fail there - may be the headlight heat. I bought some metal shielded ones that seem to work - let me hunt out the link.

These are the same ones I bought. The seller is very good. Sent me a replacement instantly.
 
The listing pics and description look very much like my Mtech ones but at half the price - so well worth a punt! :thumbsup:
 
Bulbs arrived today and after fitting, it certainly seems that the problem was the previous bulb failing rather than the connection. Let's see how long these last!
