Yes you can disable bulb checks, has to be done in ncs though which is fiddly and has the potential to literally brick your car. Not something to rush into.
No, most of the Osram, Philips etc. LEDs do not come with load resistors. My Philips LED w5w equivalents have been going strong for 2 years plus now with no issues, they are about £15 a pair though.
