LED Reverse Lights - any links to buy them online

Currently working through a number of mods on the Zed, really disappointed with the reverse light illumination, wondered if any forum members can recommend any links online or UK suppliers so I can purchase a suitably high wattage Led canbus bulb to try to help improve vision behind me at night.

Also, have you updated any of the sidelights or front foglights with LEDs? My 2.5 comes with factory fitted xenons and I would like to lose the yellow tinged halogens and replace them with some white lights on the front
 
I haven't, but Marlon did his side lights but had a lot of trouble with them, there is a thread on it, unsure if it was to do with the lamps a bad connection
 
I have a set of Philips LED reverse lights. Look great and very bright but still not great illumination of the ground for face lift. Had to get from US eBay so were about £30. A group buy could bring this down.
For LED side lights I also use a set of Philips, available for £15 but need bulb check coding out (my preferred option) or load resistors.
 
I ordered a set of these recently as I thought my reverse light wasnt working it's so dim.

While waiting for the new led bulbs to arrive, these badboys turned up in my ebay feed. With 80SMD they look like they would light up the whole blinkin street!

Nyone knows if they'll fit, or is that top bit where the led's are mounted to wide? 20mm dia and 50mm overall length....

I had juts started to look for some alternatives too..

I have to reverse down a dark narrow farm track to get to the road from the house and it gets very "interesting" at night in the Z with its candle quality reversing light.
 
Interested to see how people's options perform once they arrive, please keep us updated as I seriously need new reversing light as I have to reverse very close to my driveway dance to allow me to have enough room to open my drivers door against the house.... very hard with candle light bulb as standard :(
 
Well, I bought a set of those bad boys above. Cheap as chips and if they don't fit I can use them elsewhere.
I'll post results if they fit / arrive from the far east on the Ting Chong superfreighter before next Christmas....

I think they would have to be mentally bright to be of useful illumination. It's not so much the brightness but the lack of the lights being angled toward the ground that's the issue.

I'm banking on that as they have 20 LED's at the pointy end that they will not only be 'mentally' bright - they will be psychotically bright!

No one can say they didn't see you reversing!

I had a set of CREE and while very bright, they just projected the light of one thousand suns horizontally with little useful illumination close to the car.
 
LED reverse light arrived today, will fit tomorrow and report back hopefully with photos over the weekend of the standard bulb illumination and LED replacement

Shouldn't be a problem for me as I back in my drive along a fence to the side and rear so will light up the fence enough for me to see it :)

Hopefully anyway :rofl:
 
Watching with interest and waiting for feedback I have to reverse park very close to a kerb and would love more light.

I find it OK as reverse in to unlit garage, an try to keep close on passenger side
