does anyone know, and can explain in laymans terms why led car lights show up on tv as if they re flashing - watching TG and both the bentley and FF appear to have this characteristic......

Hopefully someone will jump in but believe they are flashing but at a frequency the human eye can't pick up but the camera does due to different frame rates

Noticed the same thing but also noticed you only saw it in the slow mo shots, lending credit to billygillys offering.

But notice how the studio cam's dont pick up on it?

The ones they use for filming must have a much higher frame rate... for high speed action, while the big old studio things must be optimized for lighting. :?

The stroboscopic effect!

Stroboscopic equipment altering the frame rate is used by some camera crews to try and stop wheels from looking like their spinning backwards on films, which you may have noticed when watching topgear etc
