Footwells nice and brightly lit up but my interior roof light looks pants now

This ^

Any solutions to changing that light?

Also, are the footwell lights the same as to boot lights?

Not got around to it buddy.

I don't even know if it's a bulb that can be replaced, is it a sealed unit does anyone know or do as anyone have a led replacement for the interior roof light?

i changed all my interior lights for leds i'll take a quick pic for ya now

arrived and fitted, love the difference and thanks for the heads up on these, might order another set for the boot and 1 spare :)

i changed all my interior lights for LEDs (same as sidelights, think there W5W or something? the just pull out and the push new LED bulb in) altho the LEDs are slightly brighter than the traditional filament bulbs as standard they still dont match up to the new and improved footwell lights so we need to find a better solution between us all now so they match haha

hard to take a picture obviously but they're bright white led's had them in for two years, cheap of ebay and match it fine.
makes a big difference to making it look more modern tbh, changed those, the footwells, cubby hole, the boot + an led strip, licence plates and sidelights, can see it in my Beckenbauer thread,

Vast improvement! I need this in my life, I found this "kit" from a UK based company, seems fairly priced think I will give them a go!

Does the interior roof light pop out easy enough Ant/Jingle?

I'll have a look this weekend as I see the B.Hol weather is doing it's usual thing so I doubt the Zed will see light this weekend, Good Fri looks ok though so that'll be a trip to the east coast for fish n chips!!!

Ant, which headunit have you got in there? I'm very tempted to get a flip out screen but not sure if it'll destroy the look of the dash! It's quite hard to judge from pictures, some look good, others not so good. Do you like yours?

yea the interior light is easy enough to pull out (from the right side 1st) and then all 3 bulbs just pull out 1 by 1 and thats it :)

not my photo but like this, just be careful and use a trim tool or some plastic so u dont damage anything:

for the boot LEDS look here

some seem to have a different fitting,

Im just waiting on the interior roof LEDs arriving all other leds arrived from china this week so hoping they would be same

Well I replaced my footwell lights and was so impressed that I ordered up 4 led 501 capless bulbs to do my interior light and boot light, the map lights went in ok but had to strip the light apart to open up the hole in the reflector to allow the new bulb to pass through.

Looking forward to it getting dark now to see the fruits of of my labours

just fitted my footwell ones,

ye the passenger side was loose, seems the hole had a notch where the clips would grip, bit of sticky velcro sorted it.

done the glove box and center box with 501 leds.

Anyone tried this set?

you could buy them all much cheaper on ebay, you just might have to wait a few week for them to come.

I went for original bmw led rear number plate lights 20-25quid inc new connectors, Replacing the bulbs LEDs would only be a few quid

19 quid on all interior bulbs and have spares (footwell ones where 9 quid, if you went with replacing bulbs there 99p for 2)

Footwell if your swapping to LEDS / center console / glove box / E85 boot

Map / high light, you can buy other ones that look like above instead cheaper but these look nicer to me

Just fitted the same footwell lights and same problem on the passenger side (slightly too small), a bit of tape helped.

I also fitted some ebay 501 COB to the other lights. Already done a strip in the boot (o-er) and led number plate lights from the 1 series.

Hi ChrisN53, did you purchase the LED pack in the end and if so how have they performed? Been looking on the forum for a while and getting mixed reviews especially after I bought some on a recommendation and they were absolute pants.
