LeatherZ - shipping to UK

Everything comes out of Cincinnati. My brother in Seattle makes all the Shift and Brake Boots. A friend in LA helps with some of the web work.

If customs/VAT is an issue for overseas folks, I can ship packages with any amount on the customs forms. The issue with doing this is I can only insure the package for that amount. Feel free to contact me directly if you would like me to do this. I can also use a slower service than the USPS Global Express Mail but it is a lot slower and there is no tracking. You can contact me about using other services and the issues with using one if you want to save some money.

Hi Andy - thanks for the info.

No probs re: the costs etc - its the robbing parcelforce ones that get me (outside of your control anyway). But good to know this info for the future.

By the way - excellent products - well made, and look great. However, finding a time in the UK when the temperature is over 60 degrees (for fitting) is somewhat troublesome so I've took my chances! :D

Run the heater in the car to get the interior temp up.

Thanks for the compliment. I would imagine the weak dollar helps you guys quite a bit with US parts?

Get the red leather shift boot too (but make sure you don't break the wiring for the illuminated knob when you're taking it off...)! How do you find the centre arm rest? That's the bit I haven't ordered because I was unsure about how it would interfere with shifting. I've seen the pics on the LeatherZ site but I'm still not sure.
 
I like my center arm rest! Little getting used to at first, but the ability to sit upright with your arms resting naturally is nice. I used to get back and neck pain after driving for several hours without the arm rest. :thumbsup:
 
I could be interested in buying some products, but not if the shipping is like what Senwar mentioned ...

Doh - never even thought of the heater (in my haste to fit!!!).

Yep the dollar is helping at the mo, must be honest!

One request/comment - when it arrived I was impressed with the looks but unsure at first, i.e. too much red (really happy now though - what I would say as an ///M owner is if the carbon leather was an option - that would look great and really finish it off. not sure if its possible, but thought I'd mention it.

Been out in the car earlier and for me it makes no interference with shifting, and for a short arm like me, makes it more comfortable.

The handbrake takes a bit of getting used to as you have to put your hand over it but it'll be fine.

Re: the shift boot - I looked at that but wasn't sure but it may look quite good. Re: the wiring - I've took my illuminated knob off and replaced with a short one anyway.
 
Senwar - I might be up for one of those as well (red in my case, not pink like yours :D ). Maybe we should join forces, i.e. you pay for the shipping and I take my bits :lol:

C'mon pvr - just set up as a UK distributor, buy say £10k of stock and then we can buy from you when required without any of the import delays :)

The red gear shift might actually look nice. Had a quick look on the web site, are those arm rests 87 USD each or per pair?

So ... who is coughing up the mail costs - CJ10 did I hear you volunteer ? :D

Would not mind that wheel nut holder thingy either as getting the X5 wheels back on is sometimes a bit of a struggle with that weight ...

Not me - I'd just pick it up next time I'm in the US.

BTW if you think X5 tyres are heavy try fitting 35" Jeep wheels in a river bed or covered in heavy mud...

The cost for the rests is per pair. I might look at a few other bits and bobs on there in the near future.

I'm sure thats some sort of volunteering pvr????

I've just bought the ZHP gear stick, it cost me just short of £100 after shipping and taxes. The stick itself costs $60.
 
tell me about it, just ordered the arm rest, stung by parcel force for 'handling charges' almost 30% of the purchase price. :thumbsdown:
 
You should have said - I was back in the US last week and could have taken it as luggage ...
