Leather Swivel Recliners - Update

Hi all,

Does anyone know of any good online companies which sell quality leather swivel recliners? I'm looking to decorate a room and dispose of some furniture and replace it with a quality recliner but looking on the net its hard to gauge quality etc and does paying more necessarily mean better? I have a budget of upto 1K, well it will be for the man room :roll:

I've seen two that look ok, first at John Lewis

John Lewis do have a very nice range and choice but they're virtually all from Thailand with a 14 week delivery :o

There are plenty of sellers of these type of chairs for the 2 to £300 mark but wander if the quality will be poor as want it to last a good 20 years or so.

I believe Stressless are the leading brand for this style of chair.
Google for their stockists.
 
One of my suppliers just sent me a catalogue for an Italian leather sofa manufacturer, and they do recliners. I only just skim read it but remember thinking the prices weren't much different to the usual far east crap, if you are interested I can get him to send me a PDF version over.

Looked at the Stressless, a bit pricey but then they do look quality and have found one or two places that have on or two of the models in stock at sale price but they're white or cream in colour, if ordering new again like John Lewis on the majority of its recliners it takes 14 weeks, I'm guessing as made to order. The Orange Peel chairs are are lovely but out of my budget range I'm afraid :(

A bit of an update since July lol

Ended up completely blowing the budget and ordered a Stressless recliner from Brentham furniture in London at the end of July. The recliner was made to order from the factory in Norway as wanted a certain leather type and the colour Clementine. Finally arrived at 7pm last night and had to be assembled luckily by the two delivery guys. Pleased they did as there was no way I could have assembled it alone, it took 3 of us nearly 40 mins :roll: anyways got there in the end, felt sorry for the delivery guys as they had drive back to London from Stafford.

Although more that I wanted to pay they are lovely quality chairs and very comfortable.

Thanks guys, was worried about the colour as went purely off the online shop images but thankfully its not a bright orange :)
