i have my car booked in for the 15th at a trimmers. (to be completed in 2 days)

my drivers side backrest seat cover is horrid (someones already touched it up and not done a great job) and i wanted to get the side bolster repaired. a new one from bmw is approx £500 incl the vat!!!!!! yikes!!! and then theres no guarentee itll match as different hide and the fact my leather has been on the car for 4 yrs and then on top of that price id have to get it fitted! £££

with the leather charts it wasnt possible to find a match..... so ive been quoted a great price to replace all 4 bolsters (sides and thigh - both seats). ive been told the safe bet is black 2 tone... so itll look like below

what other options - colour wise would you reccomend?

this is my current interior ( not showing the drivers bolster - and its the photgrapher has made the colours more intense on photoshop)

im a little anxious as i preffered it all red. i cant afford re trim the entire seats red! and i want to keep an oem fell to the car.

in my interior the wheel has black leather, the centre console and gear stick is grey leather, the seats and door cars are red, the dash and door plastics are grey although some aspects of the interior are black. the trimmers say black leather is the safest bet and the easiest to care for.

If its any help, BMW are were offering a free upgrade to black/red seats not so long ago so it is indeed an OEM option along with other colour combinations.

How much is the work going to be just out of interest?

they already have the black hide - £400 cash

they will re condition / clean the old leather and pull the slack out of the drivers seat were your bum sits....

i still feel odd about getting the black though and red 2 tone.....the knackered bolster offends my eyes each time i open the door!

although i was given an option of £650 for a new set + vat and then fitting on top.....

i found this pic on the web. i think the red stitching makes it look a little shaper than just black ...

heres a photoshop of mine without the stitching. just getting one with stiching done now
