It was, bought Dream Red Liquid Leather stuff on line; thank you!

Shall post before / after pics next wk.

wills, I did some retouching on my seats last week with the Scuffmaster kit. I even noticed the seatbelt had rubbed a bit of the red off at the top of the drivers' seat :o

I used the Gliptone cleaner on the seats first to clean them up, then I used Isoproyl IPA (spray alcohol, though lighter fuel will do as well) to get rid of any 'product' still left on the seats – I used it just where I was going to touch in.

A toothpick or tiny brush is good if you need to build up small areas of colour, otherwise the sponge they provide is good enough. Just 'feather' it out from the mark a little when there's hardly any red paint on the sponge. You can build up a few layers in a matter of minutes. Let it all dry then condition with Gliptone conditioner (light applications, don't whack on loads of that stuff otherwise it won't leave a nice matt, uniform appearance).

Good luck with it!

I've just done my seats (black) with the Scuffmaster kit. Fairly impressed with the result and very easy to use. Just take your time and build it up to the correct colour.

Great thanks for the advice all. I had sone Auto Glym cleaner in the garage, so all clean now just need to wait for the Liquid Leather to arrive

Shall post pics

Cheers, Bon weekend

Do you know the name of the black leather seat colour? Assuming there isn't more than 1 black in the z4?

I rang my dealers after not being able to get a match with gliptone scuff master. the guy is coming to my house who does all the cars at the dealership and for £45 he is going to re dye the seat to a showroom finish !

A bargain in my opinion.

What colour were you trying to get hold of? Sounds luke an absolute bargain, don't suppose you're in the Shropshire area..?!

No i live in the lincolnshire area.tell your dealer the problem and fingers crossed they will give the number for the guy that does there own cars. BMW are not kitted out to do dent repairs, scratch repairs or leather. they all subcontract the work out to the decent independent firms.

Press them and they will give you the number dont go through them as they will add a premium on top.

The way i see it is the kit will cost me £20 and a few hours work plus getting hold of the colour match and cutting my seats up to send a sample.

£45 ! a bargain
