Leather interior refurb

Hi All. New to the forum so hopefully this is in the right place

I went to www.colourlock.com workshop in Feltham (near Heathrow) today where the cleaned, filled and redyed my slightly shabby seat bolster. Hopefully the attached photos tell the story

I’d recommend them, I have no connection to them other than as a customer.

That's useful to know as they're not too far away from me.

Hi All, sorry for the slow reply, to answer the above questions it cost £125 all in, although I did pay with real money.... I actually found Colourlock by searching previous comments within the forum so I went there last week, but on visiting its a small unit on a modern trading estate and they have room for one, possibly two cars at a time. Initially I was going to buy their complete kit, at £80, so for the extra it seemed like a no-brainer.

As for colour match, I think its very good and the lady that did the work gave me a bottle of colour to take away in case I need more for the future. They checked the colour from the VIN first, but I guess that just checked that it was indeed Champagne.

It took about 1.5 hours all in. Apparently its Black and Red which are the hardest to match, so I clearly knew nothing, but Champagne presents a little difficulty because the stitching is white, but age/colour turn it black and its nigh on impossible (without spending alot) to get the white back up again. They used the thinnest masking tape to cover the stitching.

As above, I don't have a dog in the fight with regard to the company, I'm just passing on my experience. I posted the same on FB and somebody commented that www.leatherrepaircompany.com were better, but they are up in Hull somewhere and I think he may have had some interest in them as he said he'd done a course with them...anyhow you pays yer money...!!!

Long and the short is I'm happy with it and I think it does make the seats look much younger.....

Hi Coupeofcourse,

I second them too! I used them last year, and she did a good job on my seat too.Thread here - https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=110396

Hi Vijay, I think yours was one of the threads I read up when I was searching, so although a bit late...thanks :)

Oh and good choice on your car...snap...

That doesn't sound like a silly price for the South East, and it looks so much better.

Not so good to read about Black and Red being hard to match as my latest Coupe has Imola Red seats.

Thanks All,
Mr Tidy, just to reassure you, she was explaining it was difficult as there are so many shades (of black and red) I hadn't really thought about it before, but the bottom line is that they mix it to match the exact colour as taken from your VIN, but they also have the ability to adjust the shading to get it spot on if it were needed, so although more difficult, it was all within their capabilities.

Thanks, that is good to know just in case - it's in pretty good condition at the moment so hopefully I can keep it that way!
