leaking boot? (wet boot carpet) coupe

bit of an update.

They've told me the route of the problem is a vent where the water is getting in (not sure which vent, but they said there's 2 of them, so they're replacing both to be on the safe side), the water caused some module (not sure which) that's in the boot to short which in-turn stalled the engine.

I'm happy that they've found the problem and are on the case, i'll just have to keep an eye out when it's rained to see if there's any leaks.

to say sorry they're filling up my tank and giving the car a valet, so while they're at it i've got them to sort out a couple of marks on the bumper (which i didn't notice when i bought the car) and the fog lights have got condensation in them so they're going to take them apart and reseal them for me too. Wont be getting my car back this week, they said the parts they need will take about a week to arrive, no rush though, i'd rather them have it a week and get it right rather than do a rush job

got the car back today, looking good, valeted, bumper resprayed, fog lights sorted and a full tank of petrol. They said the water was getting in by a vent that he point was behind the wheel inside the bumper (from what he described), they've replaced both vents (one either side of the car) to be on the safe side and they took all the carpet panels out and dried them out too. It was raining on the way home, so was a good test to see if the leak has been fixed, got home and it's bone dry inside :) I'll keep an eye on it, but after a bit of a rough start of my Z4 life, I can't fault the service bmw have given me to get it sorted. it's time to enjoy the car!

yeah i hope they get it sorted, they're looking at it as priority tomorrow. my last car was a 12 year old S2000, never had a problem, this car is a 56 plate with 30k on the clock and it's broke down in less than a week!
yeah maybe but that Honda didn't have a soul :poke: :driving:
