Anyone else following the epic race ?
Just a steady 132 miles for the first day around Corsica followed by another 3 weeks in the saddle
Makes you realise what a set of jessies footballers are , moaning about playing 2 matches in 1 week :roll:
 
Le Tour is big in our house too - followed it on tv for years and live back in the Sean Yates era.

Off topic but Otley has a great cycling evening race this Wednesday too.
 
Had a "dream " week away in 2011watching 2 stages in Brittany & Normandy .
Went in 911 996 & took my 19 yr old nephew who is a keen cyclist & car nut :driving:

How are things in your Porsche world Tony ? Has mrs G warmed to the flat 6 yet :oops:
 
Will be glued to whatever coverage I can see in the UK. I lived in France for 8 years & really miss the coverage cycling gets there plus living in central France I could often get to stages most years - a fantastic free spectacle.

Cayman is surprisingly different to the Zed and it's treating me well - Mrs prefers the Zed, because she thinks all Porsche coupes look the same!

Enjoying the Ch4 TDF coverage as always, and I'm about 5 miles from the tour route next year when the Grande Depart comes from Leeds :)
 
Great spectacle to watch. Record it every day and keep an eye on it but can't watch all the time, so always catch extracts and the finishes or big stage climbs, sprints, etc.

Just back from Spain where its really big too and watching guys ride up hills that were tiring me to drive up...

Might be a yawn or 3, but the sports reputation is ruined in my eyes.

Armstrong got away with it for years, whilst most people were praising him as being a legend.

Are the others guilty? Ask me in 10 years when testing technology catches up with whatever tricks they might be using now.

This could be said for all sports obviously.
 
Not to mention cricketers who cheat, footballers who dive, epo athletics cheats etc.

No one likes cheats but I'd rather whittle them out in public to hope it cleans up. After reading Pantani Hamilton Landis Millar Kimmage biographys I'm sure it hasn't just disappeared but its improving.

I'm sure thats the case in all sports Kevin, all those super human efforts aren't super human at all.

I'm not into cycling but strangely like watching it, but I just think why go to all that effort bathed in sweat when you can do it in a Roadster :thumbsup: :lol:

Epic day for Froome on Mont Ventoux :cry:
After almost 6 hrs in the saddle on the most gruelling mountain climb he blew the field away .
He should well secure this year's tour meaning 2uk riders having back to back win's
Pretty big news :thumbsup:
