Evening all,

As this is my first year going to Le Mans I thought I would check to see if anyone else on here is going?

5 of us driving in convoy my Z and a mates VW Passat.. Basic plan leave early Thursday morning, arriving mid afternoon at camp site, set up camp and let the drinking commence and drive home the following Monday.

Currently deciding on sticker'ing my car up, obviously after layering the wax on!!

So anyone else going? If so another Z in the convoy would be awesome...

Hi Andy

its a great weekend, have you got a camping plot yet? where are you staying?

Me and friends are considering going down for the first time but we are pretty clueless on where to start. Where is the best place to camp? Is it best/easier just to book a package online or better to book seperate?

Also we are going down in the Z and a Cayman, only thing is we are going to stay in 1 tent, will we need two pitches? Is there any that can accomodate 2 cars and 1 tent in a pitch?

If you're not sure and can afford it, Thomas Airtrack is a nice soft intro: http://www.thomascooksport.com/Motorsports/Le-Mans

You'll be parked in a private area with clean loos, wifi and lots of Astons, Lambos etc - very cool but not the "purest" way to do Le Mans. :D

Most of the campsites specify pitches by size, so it's usually a matter of working out what you can fit into each one. We usually get one double pitch that can fit three tents and a car, and then another space for the second car (which doesn't need to be nearby - in fact, probably better if it isn't so that you have a spare car in case you destroy your main vehicle in a drunken rage). Maison Blanche is a decent site - close enough to the main straight that you don't end up walking all weekend, and far enough away from the madness that you can get a bit of peace if you want. To be honest, if you are planning on going back, it's best to try differing camp sites each year; they all have their advantages/disadvantages.

Biggest tip would be to put your hood up if you're driving into the circuit on Friday, unless you want to be squirted with a water pistol full of chav p!ss.

We stayed in Blue north first time and as mrPT said we spend a shed load of time walking.

We then stayed in Maison Blanch which i thought was just about perfect!

I have never been down in a car as we took my rents mobile home (with 8 of us on board) for that we had to book 3 pitchs to fit it in!

Hi Guys

Sorry for the delay in my reply, my frind booked it all so had to get details from him..

Staying at Beausejour campsite, my friend has been the last 2 years and stayed there, bit of a crap hole but its cheap.. We have paid £175 each for 2 people per can that includes - Eurotunne, Camping and tickets..

sounds resonable value to me, general admission is £70 straight off so £105 for the camping and train is not too bad.

just dont go nuts :driving: on the french roads! they will pull over every british car if the can!

Following a VW Passat down so hopefully shouldn't encounter much trouble with police..
