Afternoon all,

I'm new around here. Had a look around and can't see a thread for it.

So who is going to Le Mans this year?
Where are you camping?

I'm just about to book my crossing, tunnel, weds morning back Monday late afternoon. Can't wait after missing it last year! :driving:

We used to stay in Houx-annex before it got destroyed. No we base ourselves in BN.

We have had groups as big as around 20 I think in the past but looks like there is only going to be about 7 of us this year. :|

Not going this year, went last year and it was awesome  i think next year is on the cards for me, been twice before and stayed on Maison Blanche both times.

Yeah going this year after giving it a miss last year. Staying in the small town of La Chartre-sur-le-Loire a few miles from the circuit :D

That sounds nice GJC72.

I have often thought about not camping and maybe going a bit more up market. But I think I would miss out on some of the atmosphere of the campsites.
It appears that some people in our group are going in a 3 berth Campervan this year which I feel is a bit of a cop out. Although I am sure we will all be queuing up in the morning to use their shower!

So no one else going then? I thought there might be a group from on here going.

Yes, I'm going with a mate. Looking forward to it (le mans virgin so web searching what to expect)
Travelling in a Focus rather than the coupe, little bit more space and mate wants to take his car which I can drive too.
Staying at Mulsanne and at the moment considering folding bikes as the weekend's mode of transport - which should be fun after a few beers!!

We still camp but just prefer the better quality facilities that a campsite away from the circuit provides and its only about 30 minutes drive up the circuit. The town of La Chartre has a lot of history with the 24 hrs as it's where John Wyer based the Aston and Ford Teams when he ran them in the 50's and 60's. There's always a good atmosphere in the town particularly on Friday night before the race and there's always an eclectic mix of cars parked in the town square. It's worth checking out if you have time.
