Le Mans 2010

Hi Petach, sounds like you had a great time - the Corvettes certainly did make some noise, miles better than the diesels.

I suspect the corner with glowing brake discs was Tertre Rouge, its a great place to watch the cars at night. Viewing from there is covered by the general entrance ticket so nothing extra needed to go there.

Ahh yes. Well I don't like to disappoint the crowds, and I do get a little carried away come Mad Friday... :D It doesn't help that I had the car stickered up that year ...

That vid missed the best bit though ;)

Back to the topic though (ahem!), was speaking to some friends about doing LM this summer just last night, as one of our mates is engineering with Audi this year. So it looks like a small group of us will be going down to cheer him on (and hopefully blag a little hospitality treatment ;)).

Might have been. It was a grassed area with a steep drop behind you.

To be honest, we never saw any misbehaviour whilst we were there. The funniest thing was the patterns drinkers made in the chain link fencing with their beer bottles/cans. Some were very intricate and an indication of a sick mind!

If people have never been, I would highly recommend trying it just once even. Magnificent theatre and spectacle!

So am all booked up. Getting the 0800 Dover to Dunkerque Ferry on 10th June. Will be taking the N138 down. Anyone else travelling around this time? Would be good to meet up... :driving:

 I'm Crossing @ 07:50 eurotunnel on Thursday 10th, returning 15:42 on Monday 14th.

Staying (or should that be infiltrating!) on the Porsche Club GB campsite with a bunch of friends from the local pistonhead contingent :)

Just received some motorola T7 PMR's with voicebox headsets for the convoy down :D

Just confirmed some last minute tickets, and so 4 of us will be there from Thursday afternoon in two cars (the Z, and a white Nissan GTR), camping in Houx. Taking an 8am crossing on the ferry.

See you guys on the Mulsanne Friday morning perhaps?

Sixspeed,

You Dover to Calais?

There will be a number of us travelling on the Dover to Dunkerque 0800 ferry - so will keep an eye out for you at Dover.

We'll be taking the N138 unless it's hooning down with rain - might see you en route?

I'm on the 05.55 (!) Dover Calais ferry on Thursday, staying in Rouen after the race and back Monday lunchtime. Staying in Bleu Sud this year. Maison Blanche grandstand seats.

Our group consists of Z4 Coupe, XJ8 and a Nissan X-Trail loaded with beer.

No point in saying give us a wave if you see us on the way down, most sane folks will still be in bed as we drive off the ferry!
