LCI Retro indicators

Added the LCI indicators to the old girl today. Pleased to get rid of those horrible white blobs on the side.

I’m thinking of getting mine painted dark red. The emblems too. My nephew is crafting a facsimile.

The LCI indicators definitely looks much better than those white blobs! even better colour coded especially on a black car.

Looks better with the original white indicators imo

I think if I had a black car, I would definitely keep the original indicators and maybe had them smoked. I’m not a big fan of the bigger chromed versions as on my wife’s car. Same with all that sDrive number gibberish underneath them which I have since removed.

Are your side windows tinted? What % shade are they?

No idea what the tint is I am afraid, it was like that when I brought it.

If youre going to tint them be careful
Front and side windows must allow at least 70% of the light to enter.
Your windows are alread slightly tinted when made - best go see a pro for advice...

Hopefully the Melbourne Red indicators and emblems will arrive the week after next. Hopefully they'll go well with the red calipers. I'll revert to the silver ones if red looks daft.

How about getting them painted valencia orange to match the car? I think the new LCI version definitely look better than the old blob style but if you don't like chrome best to get them coded to the same colour as the car:

Thanks Rob, they look to be around £100 on eBay although I’ll check my local dealer. Any thoughts on The best place to get them from?

When you say "get", do you mean pay someone else to paint them?

Take them off, sand the plastic chrome a bit to give a 'key', mask the areas not required, cut with a sharp craft/stanley knife and buy a can of spray paint (and clear lacquer if you want them really glossy). It costs pennies and anyone can do it.

I know most people are not handy with a spray can so yes I meant pay a paint a shop to do it. I had a paint shop do mine same time they were doing my bumper so it cost me just 20€ more but I could equally have done it myself having done some minor spray jobs in the past. Saying that the finish if you do it yourself could be good to very good but for the ultimate finish and durability best to give it to a good paint shop.
