LCI Rear fog lights, swapping right to left, or activating both... for a RHD UK car in Europe, coding or wiring?

Hi guys,

I have my ITV test on Monday for importing my RHD 2006 Z4M into Spain.

I've sorted my front lights out by swapping out the projectors.

However I have just realised the rear fog light is on the right side, not the left.

So my question is, can this be swapped with coding? And if so, can someone tell me which settings to change with NCS?

My preference would be to activate both lights as fog lights. I don't care about brake force display - as that is what the LHS is currently used for.

Many thanks!

Right well, I spent long time on this today. Coding unfortunately didn't seem as straightforward as I was expecting.

In conclusion, for LHD cars, pin 49 of the LCM goes to the LHS fog light and pin 38 of the LCM goes to the brake force display - which is basically the right fog light... and on RHD cards it is the other way round pin 49 goes to the RHS and pin 38 to the LHS.

So to swap the fog lights over you simply swap pins 38 and 49 at the LCM plug. This also automatically swaps the BFD too.

I did see an option to enable pin 38 as standing lights, then another option to enable standing lights as left rear fog light, so perhaps enabling both of those may have got both sides lit up.

Anyway it doesn't really matter as all sorted!

I can confirm that swapping wires is the correct procedure. Did that on mine as well.
The bulbs are hard wired to specific pin numbers of the LCM by function (fog, BFD). You cannot reassign them by coding.

What’s this projector swap you mention? I’m considering importing mine to Italy in the next year or two and had always thought I was staring down the barrel of new headlights.
