Properly been covers but a couple of questions
First one being when the car is locked from the key then reopened sometimes the drivers door will not unlock anyone have a fix for this ?
Second one is when you shut both doors they don't have make a crap noise any one solved this ?

Oh one other one when I put the roof down via the key the windows go back up is there away of keeping the windows down ?

Sorry I can't help with the lock question, but assuming your car is a pre-facelift I think the crap noise when you close the doors is because they don't have sound deadening on them but the facelift did.

Ah - can't help with roof down questions - mine is a Coupe!

Had this problem on another Zed. In the end if failed all together. Would never open with the key, but would always lock with key. I replaced the door actuator mechanism and this didn't solve anything. Trust me that was a pain in itself! Such a small working space!

Apparently the next step is the central locking module? There are two relays that you need to replace and fingers crossed this solves the problem. This was a while ago but give it a google :) should find a thread or two on the topic.

Relatively straight forward if you know your way around a car and soldering iron. Otherwise you could always pop the module and give it to a mate?

If that doesn't help... not sure bud! Good luck!

Sounds like it could be the classic GM5 module (search should throw lots up). The modules are coded to your car so buying 2nd hand may be a false economy as it will need coding and you have no way of knowing the replacement wont go duff as problems seem to be intermittent.

A lot of people use repair services like this guy on ebay who has good feedback (I've kept the link for the inevitable day mine might go  ) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REPAIR-SERVICE-BMW-GM5-central-locking-relay-fault-Z8-X3-Z4-E46-E52-E83-E85-3/111191303651?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

These are the module relays if you are really handy with soldering http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Pcs-BMW-GM5-Central-Locking-Module-Relays-TYCO-V23084-C2001-A303-Genuine-New/222396933769?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

There are loads of vids on how to remove the module which is pretty easy and located behind the glovebox

No worries bud! Hope it's an easy fix (now you know it's prob the module!)
