2010 23i with 58,000 miles currently.
I have only had it 3.5 months so don't know the other drivers driving habits.
I've reset the adaptation on the transmission to re-learn my driving habits and am going to book it in for a transmission oil change soon. Definitely before the 60K mark.
Whilst we are in the cold season and I'm not making much use of the car I was wondering what proactive stuff I could do.
A few (many) years ago I tried a Terraclean on my Volvo & Jag diesels and it made a difference in fuel consumption and seemingly on performance. I would have recommended it together with a general service before remapping, as it made a difference on my Volvo at the time.
I'm thinking of getting this done on the 23i now, albeit petrol.
The thing is that I don't know what fuels the previous owners used. And knowing Ireland I'd say the previous owner wouldn't have stretched to premium due to cost. Prior to that it was UK owned, but again, I don't know ownership except for full BMW service history.
By the condition, it was probably owned by a gentle driving housewife or super sexy other half that the housewife did not know about.
So, quite possibly not much thought given to fuel used. Either way, I don't know.
What's the latest thoughts on Terraclean? Still snake oil or worth doing as a once off?
And is it worth doing on a 23i?
I'm thinking that with such low milage but considering the age it may benefit from a once off and then continue with premium unleaded.
