If you don't mind me asking how much do you pay for your insurance and who are you with?

I checked and best I got was:

Ready for it....
......
.....
....
...
..
.

£1850 + £3k excess

or......

£3k + £700 excess

:o :o

I currently have the 3.0 and this year paid £1,487 + £500 excess (renewed in July). 28 yo, 5 years NCB, 3 points (SP30).

As a test I removed the SP30 from the quotes and they made no difference to the two quotes above.

R1Andy, you can get a letter from your Company and their insurer's to prove you have not made a claim and been insured for 8 years which should suffice as proof of no claims. I have provided this for an employee(s) on a couple of occasions and they had no problems. Worth a try.

Are you an Actor or Steeplejack by any chance? :o

Bath, 29 (when policy was taken out, now 30 :( ), 10 years NCB, SDP+C for upto 7k PA = £489

Policy with Admiral on Multicar, but this is the first car on the list with all the NCB applied, so there's no discount from the multi-car policy on the ///M.

[EDIT] Sorry Peddy, that really sucks  [/EDIT]

So the secret plan is out :)

I assume it is the postcode?
The secret has crumbled and is now down the drain!
No M until I'm 30 it seems!

Hmmm... Still tempted to go with the 3k excess option though. :?
Shall I do it??

Thats why i've never bothered.

My car has some miles on it now anyway meaning its lost most of its value and doesnt owe me anything. Thats why im messing about with it so much doing mods.

Also think....Another 100 horses wont light your world up Peddy, especially round London. Maybe just look at a nice newer 3.0si with good options or something.

i paid around the same on my 3.0si for the past 2 years, same age and SW4 london postcode - aroud 300 excess i think
No points, (touch wood), 9 years protected no claims but do have 1 theft claim
If i tried with Derbyshire postcode where my family are - its exactly half

I'm 26 have an m roadster parked on he road in clapham.

0 ncb

With admiral I pay 1400 with 500 excess.

Admiral are good

Jesus! I don't envy you much! I've got it easy up in Aberdeen (Which is a manky place) £600, 25yrs old, £150 excess! Was only fractionally more when i was 23!

peddy are those through comparison sites or brokers?

Would be very surprised if a broker couldn't get that lowered by a fair bit. Assuming you're not parking on the street in Tower Hamlets.

Dude, check Sky Insurance.

They quoted me £1200 (£250 excess) for a Z4MC last year. (29, London postode, 2 years driving, 3 years NCB).

They also give 20% diccount for certain car club members. You can join one of these car clubs, like the RX8 one for 30 quid (you ont have to own an RX8) you'll save one or two hundred quid.

Blimey... I just got quoted £700ish for the Z4M-R, in SE3. I'm 31 with 12 years NCB though. That quote was with the NCB protected and £250 excess. Through Admiral.

Admiral seems to be doing some very good deals lately, even to insure my 17 year old son it was reasonable (on a Polo that was).
