Last Newbie Post!!!!

This is officially my last post as a so called 'Newbie' as I've now taken onboard the stunningly beautiful Mr Wilkes Z4MC.

Today should have been plain sailing, get up at 7am, train to Burnley Barracks, collects car, drive home through the peaks, tell the wife I've purchased a new car, ear plugs in, happy days.

All started as planned until my train got pulled at Crewe for a fatality on the line ahead. All of a sudden that 11am collection became a distant memory and I started to think that the powers that be on this forum had put in place measures that would ensure the ambassador that is Mr Wilkes stays with car for a tad longer. After diggin deep on an escape route out of Preston I managed to get a link over to Mr W's patch by 1pm..........phew!!!!

Deal done, paperwork signed and off en route to the peaks! Bugger the M6 me and the Zed need to get to know each other so off we go on our first journey together. Sat nav played balled until we got to Buxton then took the piss on the A515 which made me head east on towards Stoke and I ended up into a trip back across to Stoke for Southbach and the journey back down the M6 Nuff said!

Arrived home just in time for the wife's pre panned 'wine tasting' night with friends and family! Now I'm not sure if I was still high on the Zed, mutton deaf through the 3 1/2 hour drone of the back boxes or just shattered from a long day but to be frank I just wanted to go out and drive the car for another 3 hours. First impression is that this car is everything I imagined it would be and more. I can't believe how tight it is on the tarmac and how it drives like it's just come off the track. Credit to Mr Wilkes for wrapping this car in cotton wool during his ownership!

My jaw aches as if I've been gurning like a raver on acid for 3 days! Simple fact is I've been indoctrinated into the world of the Zed that comes with a complimentary ear to ear grin.

Apologies for the long winded post but I've been on the Pino Noir since 8!

Pics posted below of the journey back!

I'll be up at 7am in the morning to pinch myself to make sure this isn't a dream!

Sweet Ride ...
Now you have to familiarize yourself with every possible wheel / tyre configuration as to advise the rest of us as to will it fit.

Cheers and good luck

ps ...It'a a Z4M"R" ...For Roadster which is the preferred model as the Zed was originally designed to be a rag top.
A Z4MC is what most here consider a hard top. That is the lesser preferred model because why would anyone want one with a fixed lid ? Understandable that there is confusion over the Coup cause in many jurisdictions around the world, Coup refers to a two door vehicle. :fuelfire:
