Last minute sense check on price

Hi

As mentioned in a previous thread, I'm off to look/hopefully purchase a z4 on Wednesday and just wondered what you all thought of it in terms of price -

2008 Z4 2.0 Sport with 65k miles with FSH in great condition apart from a scuffed alloy. £7250 in a private sale.

I've been to a few auctions recently (many years ago I used to be involved in the trade and have bought extensively over the years from auction) but unfortunately the buyers fees are now prohibitive for private buyers - I recently saw a 2008 car with 50k (same spec.) make £7250 but the buyers premium would have been £450. I really just want to buy at a reasonable price so that if I decided in the next year that I want an E89 after all I won't lose much.

Cheers

tim

There's a 08 plate Zed 2.0i 44K miles in red, pretty basic spec, but immaculate, 16 inch rims on forecourt near me, with £10,495 in he window.....he'll easy get it too, despite the sharp intakes of breath I can hear!
2008 Z4 2.0i SE E85, Space Grey, 18" 241 staggered rims, 255/35/18, 225/40/18, 2 tone anthracite/silverstone leather Msport heated seats, M sport MFC Steering wheel, Bluetooth, Comfort pack, Tracker, Automatic climate control, Gaptech, Blah, blah.

Certainly not paying over the odds at that Tim especially if compared to similar car mentioned above by forum member "Geezah".
You need to check the usuals like discs+pads, when next service is needed ( & which one ? ) plus the tyre condition as all those factors can soon rattle £600/£700 out of your pocket

Just a caution Tim,

Price seems good for a 2008 but my concern would be mileage and how difficult it might be to sell and upgrade, as you suggest, to an E89? You're going to be on 70000+ miles by then and there will be other 2.0 litres available with much less miles I would have thought. You have BMW service record so you may be able to part-exchange via BMW but have you considered buying something older and cheaper that might lose you less money over the same period and be easier to sell on - a well cared for 3.0i pre-facelift?

Just a thought. . . .

:driving:

That makes sense, a older 3.0i will lose less and be easier to shift I would have thought.

:? Knob

if you don't know what you're on about best to keep the lips zipped

Maybe, but one of my pet hates is people trying to talk up prices of cars they have a vested interest in.
I made a mistake, I thought I had seen the post in at least one other place and that looks desperate.

But if the best comeback is "knob" then.....

But I would like to apologise to Tim
