I feel deprived as I don’t have a set of 19” wheels/tyres to add to my 17”/18” collection..first world problems.. 🙈

I’ve been looking at these avant grade m359 19” rims in 9j 10j sizes

https://www.bmautosport.co.uk/showroom/product_info.php/new-avant-garde-m359-spoke-alloy-wheels-gunmetal-with-deeper-concave-rear-p-4920?cPath=51_27_194_198_294

I was wondering on stock MSport springs what issues I may have if they were married to some 245/35 and 275/30 tyres? :tumbleweed:

Any relevant experience / observations pls?

Hi Pete, I’m running 235/35/19 fronts but that’s on 8.5j rims (no rubbing) rears are 255/35/19 on 9.5j with no issues

Hi Rob, first off all I did a typo.. I was talking aboout 245/35 19 (or 255/35 19) front and 275/30 19 rear..

Background to this is:

I see that for asymmetric wheel sets there is a shrinking choice in premium rubber either summer or winter and especially all seasons in those sizes..

So I was thinking of moving my 18" wheels to winter related use with a better choice of options..

Even though I had a bad start on 326Ms with run flats I wonder about a summer set of tyres in that rim size..

I see one chap with a 18i has fitted M4 wheels with 255 and 275 tyres with no apparent rubbing (on stock non MSport suspension)

Equally I pondered whether you would 'over tyre' the car with so much rubber..on the other hand G29s can be had with 255/275 tyres as OE..

This thread has some info that you could use.
Beware, you might be chastised for moving away from BMWs standard sizes

Obliged sir

I did see the thread but at the time was still trying to make the 17” 18” wheels work for summer n winter..also lost the will to read that thread went it went down the contact patch route  :tumbleweed:

So 235/35 19 and 265/30 19 is a ok

Some claim 275/30 19 rear ok

245/35 19 fronts on m sport springs may be a bridge too far?

Is that what you conclude?

Im not entirely sure. 275 seems to be ok on the rears as John has them on his. Not sure about 245 on the fronts as nobody has chipped in that they have this. 235s however look perfectly well on 8.5" rims though in my opinion

Well I’ve run 235/40 17 with no issues and 235/40 18 ditto on the front..

That’s what I’m running on 276’s 8F/9R - Michelin MPS4S’s on M Sport Adaptive standard spec suspension
