Land Rover Defender

Nothing wrong with them.
All they've done is turned an off roader into an urban lifestyle vehicle. You'd see it in Lomdon or Dubai, not the Shires or Rubicon

Yep, I had a 2002 Td5 90 CSW before my Z4. It was brilliant and wish I hadn't sold it.

I used it for everything and coped very well. I even commuted 80 miles a day in it for over a year. I used it to tow my Thundercat around and launch it on beach and slipways etc. I also had it out when I was doing my ski seasons and it was perfect for that as well.

Here is a picture of mine from the advert when I sold it.

Thinking of going to a Land Rover actually as the Z is starting to become a pain for my current lifestyle. Thinking either a Discovery 4 or 110 Utility or Double Cab Pick up.

Oh and the longest journey I did in mine was Leg Gets (Apls) to Cornwall via Calais in one go and it was fine. Only stopped for fuel, coffee and ferry.

Just as a completely irrelevant side note here, council tips in London do not allow them as they are classed as commercial. Friend of mine has one in London - a 45 year old one or so. He has to take a Fiat Panda to take stuff to the tip as they refuse the Defender.

Depends on the model usually, but the old ones may all be classed as commercial.

The new ones are very complicated. My 2002 was classed as a car as it was a car type version (6 seats), but the van type ones (2 or 3) seats are commercial. Some vans were converted to be a car looking type, but were not changed with DVLA, so still classed as a van.

Probably rubbish, but has a certain Tonka toy appeal!

Most people go for an X5 - -Z4 combo … ;)

I think that it would be more accurate to state that most Dutch people on the Z4 Forum go for the X5 --Z4 combo!

CJ and Paddy had / have an X5 as well :P

saw one the other day that looked very cool, it had a almost seamless tinted glass roof, I personally prefer the G Wagon.

Had mine for ten years now great fun.
A mate of mine had one very similar to this a few years ago.
I was in it once and never again.
Not comfy, very noisy, no radio and people stared for the wrong reasons.
Unless your handy with spanners you should avoid them. He was at a garage every other week with his with one problem after another.

Not just ZMs that hold & rise ,
no great surprise
