Lamin-X

Fitted it to my previous two vehicles, looked awesome, passed through MOTs no problem and helped hold it all together (keeping it legal) when I had a front end crash.

So was thinking of doing a subtle tint to the Z4! (silver grey coupe). Has anyone on here done any? if so examples?

Funk Motorsport have just released a kit for only £48! And i can vouch for it being genuine too so well worth it! Ill let you know how i get on. In the mean time has anyone got any to show off.

For anyone thats interested, the link is below :)

Thanks guys

I have used Lamin-X on my front fog lamps... Although if using it on the main headlamps than maybes a subtle tint could work?

I've always used subtle tint , looks pretty OEM. Most of the time you wouldn't know it was on there, just adds a little extra!

I would post some pics, but having problems with my photo bucket at Flickr.

Used some red Lamin-X on my old E85 pre-facelift rear lights to change the centre orange circles. Looked good and easy to work with.

They have the tail light kit available too now!

Has this thinly-veiled advertising been okayed by the powers that be :?

I only ask as I think you (assuming Rbrocky and Ryan Brock are one & the same) have some undeclared 'association' with this company :P

Agree Re the fogs, can probably be used for the front bumper reflectors too!

I wonder if the headlamps will pass the MOT.. or what level of tint is required to ensure it does.

Nope I have preface lights, used the subtle tint lamin-x and it just toned down the orange. I love it.
My fogs are done with a darker tint but you can't really tell.

Was going to do the reflectors too!

Headlamps will pass depending on the mot tester though technically it would constitute as a fail for any film to be placed on the front if I'm not mistaken.

Ive used Lamin-x on my last 3 cars, it is excellent film and just about to order some more from the usa for my new zed, 6% is what i use, front and back, never had any problem with mot;s

On the link above, it says sheets suitable for your car on their website, the lamin-x i buy is pre cut exactly to the shape of your light.

Hi Dale where did you get the laminx that you used for the fogs? Was it just a sheet that you cut to size and is it the gunsmoke?

Cheers

When I origonaly bought the film a while back I got it through these: http://www.lamin-x.co.uk however, the website now seems to be down, there is no link to the actual 'shop' section. Rbrocky could maybes assist?

Yes I just bought a sheet of gunsmoke and cut to suit the shape/size required for the fogs
