Lambo Hurracan...or what else for £150k

It's a pretty smart bunch on here, so thought I'd pose the question around what would you buy for £150k....

My brain/heart seems to think a 2015 Lambo Hurracan at £150k (possibly even cheaper) seems to make reasonable sense,...for some reason the market doesn't like them right now, but to my eye it's a great looking car and will they really drop below £100k in the next 5 years...probably doubtful. If not the lambo what else? A 458 has moved back to a £120k mark for a 7 year old car and does any 911 have the specialness of a lambo at that money...?

Views on a postcard please...

Hmm, maybe a mint 355 for me :)

Had this for a short while....terribly built, horrible interior (the door handles were a particular joke) but the click clack metal gate gearbox and fizzy V8 wer special. Actually not that quick in the real world.

Actually not as quick as a Z4M. PHer I know has one and told me the Zed pulls away from him.

When I started my film company my first job was filming a friends GTS in Cheddar, red, just like yours. After filming (early morning so v.quiet) we met up with guys from FCCUK and agreed that the tuned Fiat Coupe were quicker, in a straight line at least. But, as you say, the metallic clack, those looks and a nice Tubi exhaust would keep me happy.

Ten years ago I had the pleasure of helping to film the Furball500 event and got to hear a couple of 355 through the Italian tunnels and whilst waiting at the top of mountain passes = heaven. At 48 seconds you hear the briefest clip of a 355 and Gallardo flying by the old Reims pits.

I always call the f355 the last of the old ferrari's. Very nice to look at but indeed not that fast if you expect ferrari performance (because they made an incredible performance leap).

If you're spending that kind of money, you could try and find a gallardo 550-2 manual (valentino balboni or tricolore edition).
That probably will go up in value in the future because it's 2wd and has a manual (last of the supercars to have a manual).
There are some ferrari 599gto's with manuals (24 to be exact, last of the ferraris with a manual) and if you look at what they cost...
Obviously the gallardo 550-2 is less fast than the huracan, but fast is quite a relative concept. By the time you buy that huracan, both ferrari and lamborghini will have a faster car in that class.
But realise that parts for ferrari's and lamborghini's and the maintanance scedule will be very expensive.

Manual murcielago might also be nice. Last v12 with the bizzarrini engine. Sounds epic

No Lambo for me ...

either a GT3 like this ...

Or I would think Mclaren Sport Series

For servicing, the new Ferrari and Lambo cars (at 20k intervals) are actually cheaper than the Inspection 2 on the MC I'm about to have this month...

I get what your saying and I agree fully! Buy it enjoy it live it

I don't get the whole it's not a proper Lamborghini talk I think they look great. Don't forget to pop round mine for a cuppa and to take me out for a drive  :D

I'd go for 2 or 3 manual Ferrari 456GT's myself, but each to their own!

Not surprised they aren't loved. Isn't it really just an expensive R8? There's too little difference, it doesn't look that good either (for a Lamborghini), the interior is naff and it apparently suffers from understeer? I'd have a 570s over that without even a second thought or a 650s - like this one perhaps http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/mclaren/650s-coupe/mclaren-650s-coupe/5646687

Have you bought EVO for this month as there a good number of cars in your target price range that appeared in the annual Evo Car of the year - 570S, R8, LP580-2 Huracan , Vantage GT-8 , Honda NSX.

You might be surprised by the results... The R8 for instance appears much higher up the list than the Lambo.

Will take a look...the absolute main aspect of the car for me from now on is 'what won't depreciate' by huge amounts. I'd done my b*ll*cks on cars before so you become more wise on the total cost of ownership. Whilst I see the R8 as an absolute new car bargain comparatively, it's new and will only go south on price over the next 2 years. I like the idea that someone else has done £100k depreciation on the Lambo over 1 year and 6k miles....

If retaining value is the driver ( as it would be for me) I'm not sure nearly new Lambos would be what I would go for , there are plenty of Gallardos for less than 100k on low miles 20k ... Quick search on Autotrader would confirm that and the Huracan is likely to do the same.

If retaining value was my aim is be researching the right special 911.... 993 Turbo, 996 GT3 RS , 964 RS or even plumb lower for a GT4 Cayman . Worth talking to people like JZM, Paragon , Stirlings who know the market much better than I do.,
