Right guys swing of route again.

The bike race has been cancelled due to higher winds and patches of rain obviously on a bike up at that altitude (1,167 feet) the decisions sensible, but in a car it isnt a problem.

Me and Ste have been in contact with the race representatives and every participant has been notified and they are sending representatives to warn people not do to the route on the sunday for the small amount that do turn up. They also said most participants are local it wont be an issue.

The original route is a lot safer for us as a group the roads are 90% double sided, where as they aren't on the second. There are plenty of passing places, also going up Wrynose and Hardknot is a bit more hardcore and if people aren't used to those kind of roads it will be an effort and its hard going, also harder to keep a decent pace. Also the first route is well planned and already sorted is very picturesque and very enjoyable and I know it like the back of my hand so will be easier for me and Ste to lead.

So we have decided to do the original route, but wanted to put it to the forum just incase people had any issues/qualms.

So original plan stopping at the Kings head for lunch and loads of good photo stops etc.

Cheers Ste. Yeah it's a right bummer. I'd been looking forward to this for ages.

Hope the weather isn't as bad as forecast for you guys.

Lads you have put so much effort into the organising of this event, just want to say well done. See everyone Sunday in a dirty z4!

Thanks for the update Tom
I'm not sure if it's good news or bad - no bicycles but rain and gales instead!
Still looking forward to it though, esp as the Zed has been waxed for the occasion
