Lack of Z4 action...

Three trips into the Highlands within a month and I've not been able to take the Z4 on any of them :x

First time, the A9 was blocked by an accident. I have to admit, as we rolled past in the train and I watched the poor sods stuck in the hours of tailbacks I was glad I wasn't in the zed. Even though we felt ripped off by train prices.
Then, we head up for a weekend and snow prevents play. Off we go in the everyday car that won't get stuck.
Next weekend, we head off for a remote lodge for Christmas (weather permitting). And SWMBO tells me we're not taking the Z4 with the weather forecasts we're seeing. We don't want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere apparently. Where's the sense of fun. Drifting snow on the A82 will only mean a drifting Z4 on the A82 and a devilish grin on my face. :driving:

Roll on the summer.

I know. As much as I love the Zed, it ain't that great in this weather (especially with 18" runcraps!). I'm hoping this expected flurry of snow doesn't come to much or I'll have to camp over in work!

Do people actually consider taking their Zed out with salt on the roads :o

Its not going to dissolve!

I used the gf's ford focus 1.6 during the worst of the snow/ice. I could have driven the Z if i had to but she didnt really need hers.

Get back in the Z a few days ago, it feels like a rocketship! Managed to blow the cobwebs off on the local by-pass. I think its really easy to get used to the performance :D

Due to space constraints, I tend to have one car to do everything, and mine's used almost every day of the year for everything from shopping to commuting.

Agreed but my new 208s might ....................she is clean and tucked up under her soft BMW cover

NOOOOOO, get it out and drive it and ENJOY it.

Although ive already had it stranded once this year in N wales in the snow after deciding to go camping last weekend

so let me get this right; you're going to a remote lodge in the snowy Scottish Highlands with your partner and she doesn't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere? Is there something she's not telling you??? :poke:

Believe me, once the weather improves you'll be taking the Z4 all over the Highlands - great car for the roads up here. Mine's not seen much use either but that's really just because I don't need to use it much at the moment. It's there to get used though, it's not a garage queen like some are.

Hmmm. Was thinking it's easier to seek forgiveness than permission (and more fun that way), but now I've seen the pile of stuff building up to go away with I've got to agree there's only one option. Unless you can get trailers for a Z4...
Rather annoyed the snow socks I bought haven't showed up though. Would be far happier having them in the boot give the recent weather.
