You have to be over 18 in Wisconsin to open carry, so at 17 Rittenhouse was not entitled by law to be carrying it.

The gun charge was dropped by the state during trial.

So you argued earlier he was lawfully carrying, but it certainly appears he was not. The fact the charge was dropped is irrelevant, he was not legally carrying. A charge can be dropped for any number of reasons.

It was dropped because during discussions with the Judge & defence the state accepted that the charge wouldnt stick because the legislation (which is horribly written and complex) has a number of exemptions and those gave Rittenhouse the right to possess the rifle.

It was dropped because at the end of the day it will be irrelevant, the prosecution have bigger fish to fry and it would not have been worth the courts time arguing over.

If he was lawfully in possession of the weapon, then all that went on prior to the shooting is irrelevant. The question should be what was his intent at the time of the shooting and was that intent a reasonably held belief. If he genuinely believed he was defending himself and that was reasonable in the circumstances then not guilty. If the belief was unreasonable then perhaps manslaughter. If none of those applies then murder.

It was dropped right at the end after both defence and prosecution had rested. The legislation was discussed and it was dismissed. Also not sure if you know how prosecutors work but they will literally throw anything and everything at someone in the hope that something will stick, they also tried to bring a curfew breach charge but that was dismissed as well.

The fact is he was, by law agreed upon by a court, legally in possession of the rifle.

As I said, lesser charges are dropped all the time during court cases........

So why have then included a bunch of 2nd degree charges to the 1st degree charges, they have added a 2nd (lesser) charge to each one of the 1st degree charges in order to try and get something to stick.

Dude, just accept the reality that he was legally in possession of the rifle, its been ruled on by the court. The issue is whether he was defending himself or whether he murdered the two dudes and tried to murder the 3rd.

Dude? Seriously? Think you have been watching too much yank tv.

Those charges are included because they are serious, of course they want something to stick, it's the prosecutions job.

So the gun charge isn't just a disposable lesser charge then? Its a serious charge... if it were valid, which, as the court ruled, it wasnt.

Not so sure, it appears some people have no problem with his actions.

The issue isn't "do you have no problems with his actions" the issue is did he murder those men or did he defend himself.

In this state in the US you have the right to defend yourself if you reasonably believed that you or others were in imminent danger of death or serious bodily harm. You cannot however provoke or initiate a confrontation then shoot someone and claim self defence.

Fantastic to see Kyle to be found not guilty on all charges and released by a jury of his peers.

Perhaps if you spent a bit of time educating yourself to the reality of the situation you would realise that he was there for several days helping people, cleaning up graffiti etc and then that night was still trying to help people, put out fires etc and was ambushed and attacked by a serial paedophile who he shot in self defence and then had to defend himself again when another violent rioter tried to stave his head in with a skateboard multiple times and finally an ultra left wing anarchist tried to execute him with a shot to the head as he lay on the ground following the assault with the skateboard. If he wasnt armed they might have just killed him, beat him to death perhaps, but thats fine right? Hes just a "fat f**k".

Hey pal!
It's my opinion!
I spent 23 years of my life serving my country so that the likes of you had the freedom to voice your own opinions, so I'm damned if I'm going to listen to you pontificating about mine.
Send when me a postcard when you move over to the States as you obviously love it so much!
Hope you don't get shot!

I feel sure that you did not have the 'likes of Flyingfifer' in mind when you volunteered for a 'job' in one of the armed forces. It is not as if you were conscripted to fight, was it? It was a job, so cut the crap.
