Recently purchased a z4mr and need a couple of bits of advice regarding top mounts
Is it ok to just renew the oem top mounts with the kw v3 and that’s all that is required car won’t be tracked
Thanks

Yes you can use the oem mounts, it'll need the geo doing though as the front top mounts are slotted so you'll loose the position.

When I installed my KWs, I fitted these (on Beedub’s advice) to prevent deformation or cracking of the top of the front strut towers. They’re BMW OEM strut tower reinforcement plates that cost less than £20 for a pair back in 2014.

I also fitted these, both to reinforce the rear shock towers and to avoid stripping the boot lining again if I needed to remove the rear shocks:

Re the rogue engineering rear top mounts did you use the washers provided or have to get the 12mm ones when fitted with kw v3 thanks

I can’t remember I’m afraid, I fitted mine in 2014.

Here's some pics from my installation. I also used reinforcment plates, and as far they seem to do the job.

im REALLY glad i did this from when i fitted the suspension, these cars are getting older and ive heard of a ecent few situations were stiffened cars are deforming those towers.

this underneath and the Strut tower brace will make sure this doesn't happen, its essential and cheap protection for stiffer than stock cars.

This isn't even just an age thing, porsche vehicles can be soft in that area with a really popular gt4 cast where a gent was driving at the track and rode the curbs like we all do and cracked the front strut top... and a brand new gt4... porsche wouldn't warranty either :tumbleweed:

Sure is, but not the pics :)

I have ordered kw v3 but have now decided to get the front strut tower reinforcement plates and the kw club sport camber plates
Will the studs on the kw v3 be long enough
I don’t have a strut brace
Thanks

They should be fine the plates not that thick, I used the extended studs mind but I have the oem strut brace too

The Clubsports studs are long enough for reinforcement plates and an OEM strut brace, at least they were on the 2014 iteration fitted to mine.

Later ones you have to ask KW for the extended studs and then knock them out yourself, bit of a minor pain as they are in there pretty good!!
