Set of 4 coilover shock absorbers and springs (Kit No. 352 20 072) to provide a great road or track modification for any BMW Z4 E89 without electronic damper control. This is the more expensive Variant 3 kit offered by KW, with adjustable ride height, bump and rebound settings, so that you can properly set up your car for a variety of uses. The kit provides a suspension drop of 15-40mm Front and 10-35mm Rear. My signature photo below shows my car with the kit fitted.

The kit is in very good condition, with only a few marks showing on each of the shock absorbers from the time that it was fitted to my car. The bump stops and bushes are all in excellent condition, with no signs of wear. The springs have been refurbished, as the original powder coating was very thin and had cracked and worn off in places. The new powder coating has been professionally applied to a much better standard than the original, and they look as good as new! The kit is lacking a C-spanner, but these can be picked up easily, as they are universal fit.

This kit could be fitted immediately to any Z4 E89 for the coming track day season, or just for faster road use or a better look to your car. It is offered to the forum at £750 £700 £650 £600 ono (please note RRP for this kit is £1,729, as this is a top end product!).

I would prefer collection only (Hampshire), but can be flexible to meet up within a reasonable distance, or could probably accommodate it for a courier to collect, as long as the buyer arranged this. Ultimately, this is a big and heavy box, that I'd prefer not to ave to ship myself.

Please message me if you'd like to see more photos or have any questions.

Thanks, Phil

It was fitted to my car when I bought it and doesn't seem to have seen too many miles, as everything is in very good clean condition. I suspect that the last owner didn't have it fitted for long, as he still had the original suspension for the car (which has now been refitted).

Hmm, tough crowd... This is a high quality item offered at a very good price already. I've even spent my own money getting the springs refurbed, and they are now mint.

How about another drop to £650 ono, to see if I can't free up some garage space.

Utter bargain. They transform the E85/E86 - I can only imagine that the E89 is the same (possibly even more so, what with more mass to manage).

Good move refurbing the springs. They aren't terrible but the paint is probably the only slight quality niggle on an otherwise top notch product.

Yes, the original powder coating wasn't great. My friendly mechanic has done a fantastic job on the refurb, with much thicker powder coating than the originals, so should last a lot longer.

OP - any particular reason as to why you’re selling these?

Bit of a long story, but basically I bought my Z4 with them already fitted. My wife uses the car as a daily driver in the summer months and didn't really like the ride quality, as they are relatively stiff compared to the standard set up. We managed to secure the original suspension from the seller, which was in very good order, so we decided to fit that back to the car and are a lot happier with the general feel for daily use.

In the past, I would have kept the coilovers on the car and had them properly set up for some track use, but I've moved on from that now, and prefer a more 'comfortable' car that also has some performance when required. Hence the 35i...

I'd much rather someone who is keen to improve the handling and set up of their car has the use of them. I would have loved to have these fitted to my old trackday 944S2, back in the day!
