Koni Adjustables

just got mine in the mail yesterday and noticed that the rears do not have the adjustment knobs on top like the front do.

is this normal? anyone else have these shocks with the same design? how would i go about adjusting them?
 
Few years back I had Koni adjustable shocks on a previous car. The rears were adjusted by turning a small dial near the bottom of the shock.
 
did some online reading and i think these may have to be adjusted by fully compressing the shock and then turning clockwise or counterclockwise to soften or stiffen. thats unfortunate.

for the people running eibachs with konis, what setting do you guys have them on? i know when shipped they are set to full soft, do you guys keep them at full soft?
 
Full soft is usually ample for the road on any kind of sporty half decent shock setup...

Usually the high shaft speed stuff is setup and fixed, you only have adjustment of the low shaft speed part for fine-tuning handling balance mainly, rather than bump/ride comfort and outright grip potential on variable surfaces (ie, the road where it's not glass smooth)

It is a fine art though, and no one thing is ideal, it's all down to your personal preference, but as said, often full soft on a good damper is probably perfect for most road users. The advantages of better dampers at all is often their inherent superior qualities such as more rigid shafts, lower unsprung weight, better against overheating etc, rather than just being firmer.

I have Konis on My 2003. The fronts are easily adjustible with the knobs. I keep them full soft for everyday driving and full hard for autocross. I have the rears set at full soft. The directions for adjusting them suggets that the have to be removed, adjusted, and then put back on the car. Too much work for me. I just keep them at full soft.
