Hi all,

I wanted to share a positive experience whilst I repaired my E86 over the weekend. On removing the front bumper, a couple of weeks ago I snapped one of the plastic bumper plastic hangers. This hanger clips into the wheel arch and is directly behind the clear / white side refectler. I wasn't rushing to pay big money, so I did a bit of exploring on AliExpress. I came across these:

Decided to buy the pair. Fitted it, along with the bumper, and it worked a treat! I must admit, I was a bit dubious with regards fit, quality, shipping etc, but ended up being pleasantly surprised on the how the 'experience' ended up. Good result.

Thanks all.

Steve

I ordered the same last friday as when my bumper was resprayed and PPF-ed, one bracket did not look right and the gap on that side is too big so for the cost compared to an OEM one, it is a no brainer to try one of these.

You’ll be pleased hopefully, as mine was a near perfect match to the OEM one that snapped. This black click surrounds a small bolt and washer arrangement, check check if the nut is still on, as on mine, the nut and washer was missing. Good luck with the repair.

Did you replace the nut and washer as I would imagine that it needs to clip around that to pull it in properly?

I have found that earlier bumpers tend not to have the small cut out needed to clear a lug on the clip. I assume that they must originally have had a different design of clip.
So for anyone buying these to fit to an earlier car, you may find you need to file out a tiny bit on your bumper lip to mate up with the clip.

Yes, I took the plastic clip off. Be careful. It's not easy. Use some long nosed pliers. I also taped the metal bodywork to avoid any mishaps.

From memory, I then put the new clip on, and then replaced the washer and nut. From memory, I think you can replace thew washer and nut with or without the plastic clip on. It'll be obvious when you tackle it.

Offer ended when I ordered jumped to just under £10

The "offer" is fake, as the more you visit the page, the higher the price goes as well. And if you put it in the basket with the offer, and pay, then they change the amount so paypal fails and they want to authorise a higher amount to which you have to either approve in PayPal or refuse.
