knocking sound from dashboard area

How many miles/km on the car ? i had a problem with the suspension bushes on my E46 328Ci on 30K ( km's ) that gives a simelar sound indeed, now the E85 adapted the E46 suspension bushes if i'm correct.

83k miles and don't think any have been changed before

I just changed my front wishbone bushes at 71k miles and the old ones were knackered didn't even need a puller to get them off

I have the same problem, i will check strutt brace tonight.

Tightened mine up last night,
No probs today

I checked the forum for torque settings before fitting my strut brace. 35nm is what you need.

I had one slightly loose brace nut on the existing diagonals but hasn't noticed an issue. I just checked them as I was working on that area.

Don't pay attention to a "torque setting plus another turn", it's meaningless. (Not having a go at Wegras, he's just passing on what he'd seen)

Dont be so sure wantan, it didnt solve the problem on my old 3.0.
Could be a steering rack problem or top mounts

think mine might be top mounts...steering doesn't feel right
