I want a weighted gear knob after reading comments about them.

I quite like the look of the standard one but I dont really like the shape of it, I prefer more of a ball shape that fits better in the hand.

I know a lot of people reccomend the zhp one but I dont really like the look of it, are there many other alternatives? Im not looking at paying silly money for one, something under £50 if thats possible.

Any suggestions appreciated

Cheers mmm-five, Ive read that post before but it mainly discusses the zhp, I was just wondering if there are any other options.

Just got the stormwerks knob. Ain't cheap but it is FA. Really improves the smoothness of changes :)

Yeah looks good

Just not sure I can justify spending best part of a ton on a gear knob.

I think it has a resale value if you move on from BMWs but to be honest it's one of those subtle changes that makes the car that bit more special to drive. Trust me I thought it was a bit crazy bit I'm glad I took the plunge!

Got the stormwerks knob as well but ahve not fitted it yet. It really looks fantastic in the flesh and has a hell of a weight to it as well.

and as tjlazer says, you can always take it with you. Best 'best part of a ton' I ever spent.

I just worked out last night that I have a 5 speed non-///M ZHP style knob fitted - she came that way from the dealer!

Edit: OK I was wrong. I have a leather knob, not the plastic one I've seen a few people on here have. I just assumed that the plastic one was stock but alas there is also a stock leather one. Sounds like a ZHP knob is in my future ;)

JimmyGee, wait til it's your birthday, tell your family that you want an expensive gear knob and ask them to chip in.They'll be happy that you've made it easy to buy for,and you'll get the gearknob you really want without having to be concerned about the cost. :D

Might just take your advice there  not sure they will go for it though.
