The Kinetic sculpture at the BMW Museum in Munich is built with 714 suspended metal balls. The sculpture moves through a cycle of free abstractions and typical BMW vehicle forms.

Maybe I woke up in a bad mood, but IMHO I think BMW should stop that crap, save the money, and lower their service prices instead. :x

i think it's great! BTW, the individual dealers set service rates, that's where they make a lot of their money. :wink:
 
Ok, how does this work? I'm confused. It's cool, but at 2am my brain is fried from having to fix a tough problem at work tonight.
 
From what I can see it's simply a load of balls!

Balls on strings, connected to silent running motors. The balls go up and down in patterns to create the 3D image,
