Killed instrument cluster, help!

Hi
Just removed instrument cluster to fix a rattle, when i plugged back it started making sone weird noises, switched ignition on and no lights except for airbag light, no needle movement either... not at actually started car yet, tried disconnecting battery but same thing, what have I done?? Help!!

nothing should have really happened ..

Did you have ignition on when you either disconnected and reconnected the cluster ?

No it was definitely off but battery was connected, although i read that it doesn't make a difference?

It shouldnt make a difference,although it would be decent practice to remove it before working on the car.

Anyway, are all the pins and contacts sound,no damage ?

Try starting the car and see what happens..

Do you have any diag equipment ?

Pins all look good, I've left the battery disconnected for an hour so will give it another try...
I've got a cheapo obd reader, I'll check for faults as well if still dead...

Just needed the battery disconnecting for a decent length of time to reset everything. Thanks for the help!

You might try this once you have tried the battery reset. It might reset the cluster?
