The only thing i find common with the Mini is that the roof is painted a different colour than the body and that they both have a similar 2 box shape or stance.

Very good.. see some Mini but also some Renault 5 Gordini in the rear...

to be honest it is what BMW should be making the mini rather than knocking out variations on a theme.

I think it's because Minis are so ubiquitous now that we automatically think of them whenever we see a hatch with different coloured roof and upright windscreen. The headlights and wheels are all in the same place anyway...
