keyfob battery replacement

had a look on here but couldn't see a guide and youtube has mixed reviews.

does replacing the keyfob battery involve soldering in the new one or not? some on youtube have lads sliding a new one in, others have it being desoldered/soldered.

my primary key is starting to act up so i'm assuming it's on it's last legs and the remote part of the spare has been dead for ages
 
Yes it requires soldering to remove the old battery and replace the new ,its not difficult i have done it but to be honest you have to butcher the key to open it and it dosent go back together very well .The replacement battery was 4£ off ebay and an hour to do the job but i wouldnt bother again i would get a replacement key
