key wont remotely lock the car

Hi ALL

I just picked up my first Z4 5 hours ago and when i got home I tried the lock the doors after i got out and the remote wont lock the doors but will open the boot and will unlock the doors

Im having to lock using the key tonight any ideas please (i only have 1 key)

The remote obviously works. The problem is what it's programmed to do. A BMW dealer can reprogram the key to suit your preferences but it will be expensive. Some auto locksmiths can also provide this service at a lower cost. Check around. An interim solution may be:

Just remembered im insured for this so i claimed today and bmw will have me a brand new key for collection on friday morning

strong recommedation get your self key insurance --- saving me a whopping £137 new key charge so far and it was a free policy with my house insurance
