I am led to believe that various options can be activated on your key by the stealers if requested. Has anybody had this done? What sort of cost implications are there, or can they be activated another way?

Not many options - roof open and close but thats about it.

You can do it yourself for £20 with a cable from eBay and a bit of faffing about installing the software.

As well as things you can do with the key (open and close roof, windows), there are also a number of things which can be programmed depending on which key you use to open the car with (seat position, HVAC settings, radio station settings, etc).

Have you used the cable to do any of this?

Can you recommend one as there seems to be a number of different ones with different types of software?

Thanks....

they normally accept an offer of £20

Most programmable options are stored in the car memory, doesn't matter which key is used. The only programmable options stored in each key relate to HVAC and locking options. Each key also has memory for several functions like seat position, audio options, mirror position, etc. but there are no related options to chose from, the settings are automatically saved to which ever key was used last.

Be careful storing things behind the seat. More than one person has destroyed their tablet by unlocking the car with the keys for someone with long legs!
