key programming

 i'm from the bay (california)
i went over to a nearby bmw service center to have my key programmed.

i gave it to the technician guy.. said... can you please program my key? (i originally went in to have them program the car to flash when i lock it).

the guy took my key, sat in my car, i watched him turn my car off and on.. and then all he said to me after he was done... ok. it's programmed.


my question is.......... wtf did he do?

If you still want the programing sequence, I can get it for you. You have to be in the car with the door closed and turn the key to the on position but not start the car, then back off. You do this three times in a row and that programs the key. I have the exact sequence some where filed away. Let me know if you need it. E-mail me at [email protected]
